Opening Day a Success
Thank you to everyone for a spectacular opening day! The market was buzzing with activity all day long and the produce was flying off of the tables.

Leslie Balsillie from The Fruit Wagon sold out of produce by 10am. 20 flats of strawberries gone in a flash!
We hope that you were able to join us and that you had a great time. We look forward to seeing you again and seeing what produce the vendors bring with them as the food comes into season.
Congratulations to Jagruti Patel for winning our draw. Jagruit wins a beautiful gift basket of local products from Locally Yours.
Opening day tomorrow!
It’s opening day tomorrow!
The market will have more than 30 local vendors, celebrating the best of Windsor and Essex County with fresh, local produce, area artisans and entrepreneurs, baked goods and prepared foods, and live entertainment.
New vendors this year include meat, fish, gluten-free baked goods, pony rides and more.
In addition, specially for opening day, we will have master gardeners and others celebrating Spring in Windsor with perennials, local native plants, and gardening wisdom!

There will also be a drawing for a door prize from one of our vendors, Locally Yours.

Entertainer Meeting Overview
Hello all,
I would like to present a short outline of our meeting at the Manchester Pub.
First, thanks to all those who made it to the meeting on short notice. If you did not make the meeting, I am still interested in your comments or suggestions.
I talked a bit about last year’s success. In my opinion, the entertainment and events happening at the DWFM sets us apart from other markets. This year I’m trying to bring more diversity to our entertainment scope. I am attempting to tie in with other downtown events in the hopes of benefitting from cross-promotion. Instead of working in isolation, we can build on each others’ strengths. We are also planning “Special Events Days” on the 2nd Saturday of each month of operation. Some time slots on the calendar have been blocked so we can complete preparations.
Not only musicians are welcome at the Market. We are interested in hearing from dance troupes, glee clubs, ethnic entertainers, children’s entertainers. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talent for one hour on a Saturday, you will receive in return, tips and gratuities, media promotion, exposure for other jobs, sell your own stuff, have a great time.
What does the DWFM get; a great performance from you, your energy and enthusiasm and happy customers. There are 4 one hour time slots each Saturday (84 slots in total) where you will have the opportunity to sign on for any number of dates/times that are available.
One of the challenges we encountered last year was the performance site. Last year it was almost a weekly struggle to find the optimum place. After much discussion, we concluded that just north and east of the Market canopy was the best spot. I have a stand alone cover that can suffice for your protection from sun/weather. We will arrange seating so customers can sit and enjoy. Several who attended the meeting signed up for various dates/times. There are many more openings available. Please keep an eye on the calendar, and let me know when you would like to participate and I will sign you in
There are many opportunities at the Market. If you have a idea that would fit into the Market, just e-mail or call and we’ll see if we can work something out. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Market as a vendor, an entertainer, a customer or a DWFM fan. We can’t do it without you.
