We always have side vendors and artisans that offer a little extra for the market…
This week the native crafts booth returns with jewellery, dream catchers and other goods. Need a baby shower gift? How about a pair of handmade moccasins (baby, children and adult sizes available)?
Each week you’ll find artist, Rashmi Dadwal with her sculptures, jewellery and hand-painted cards (including money holders for all those weddings you are going to!). You can also bring your jewellery to her for repairs while you shop.
And don’t forget to send the kids to our information table so they can find out what they get free this week.
See you at the market!
Recipe: Beet, Zucchini & Potato Hash
Beet, Zucchini & Potato Hash
1-2 beets
2 medium potatoes
1 small zucchini
3 tbsp vegetable oil
coarse salt
pepper
1-2 cloves garlic, diced (optional)
1 small onion, diced (optional)
- Scrub the beets and potatoes. Slice one end off of the beet and zucchini so you can hold them easily. Shred all of the vegetables on a grater.
- Heat oil over medium heat in a frying pan. When the oil is hot add the vegetables (and onions and garlic, if using) and fry, turning occasionally. Season with salt and pepper and your favourite herbs.
- Cook for 10-15 minutes until the veggies are tender and a bit crispy.
You’ll want to end up with about 2 1/2 cups of veggies to start and you will end up with enough for 2 people. Increase amounts as needed.
This makes a great side dish for breakfast or dinner. Try it with some of Our Farm Organics breakfast sausage – delicious!

Join us for week 2!
Join us for an exciting second week at the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market tomorrow starting at 8am!
Our food vendors have coffee, freshly brewed tea and breakfast treats to get your day started and prepared food is available all day (hot dogs, sandwiches and more!) if you want to sit down at one of the picnic tables and have lunch.
What will our vendors bring? It’s always exciting to see what has come into season each week. Stop in at our information booth to pick up your seasonal fruit & vegetable reference card that will help you plan your visits.
Don’t forget about Dad! Locally Yours will have Father’s Day gift baskets ready to go and our other artisans will have some unique gift ideas too. Maybe bring Dad with you and treat him to a snack while you are entertained by our buskers!
Did you miss anything at your last visit? After stopping at your favourite vendors be sure to look for vendors who are new to the market this season. Now you can get steaks at the market, pick up some fresh fish and take the kids for a pony ride!
The parking garage is right across the road and the first hour of parking is free. The vendors are under the canopy so even with the slight chance of rain, the county’s best will be safe and waiting for you to discover it!
See you at the market!
